For more than 50 years, Gabriëlla Cleuren has dedicated herself to her life’s work - trying to capture the changes and contradictions of the 21st century.

This has resulted in a staggering number of paintings, modern-day fragments that reveal a parallel with the works of the 19th-century painter Goya. Human behaviour often shows no sign of progressing and we seem to go endlessly round in circles. Using finely targeted emotional pixels, Gabriëlla is able to transcend time.

Artistic freedom to the core. Even when using her technique in Outside World, groundbreakingly expressing herself in computer language and writing, she has an intuitive way of handling paint, in sharp contrast to the digital machine. Feral pixels. Emotions rather than e-motions.

Despite the fact that Cleuren's paintings are a well-kept secret, her work has gained international recognition in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, England. In 2016, she became a member of the Rainforest Art Foundation and in 2017 she received the Red Line Art Works award.

Her work is divisible in INSIDE WORLD and OUTSIDE WORLD. For INSIDE WORLD, kind of her diary, she works fast and spontaneous in a very honest expressive way, sometimes sweet and moving, sometimes brutal. Artistic freedom to the bone.

OUTSIDE WORLD is her reaction to the cold outside world. Warm and concentrated pixels that scratch the soul.
